Let's get right down to it...
The deadlift is one of the best full-body exercises you can do. Many trainers and coaches would argue it's THE best, because it's the perfect example of a compound exercise, which means it forces you to use multiple muscle groups at once.
You will learn the correct deadlift form in this video thanks to the MoveU guys.
As a result of correcting your body for this particular movement, your lower body development becomes more efficient and results are seen faster. You can also lift heavier weights, allowing you to really build strength, when you're using several big, strong muscles.
Your glutes, quads, and hamstrings are involved in just about every single lower body movement and activity so using this movement will help strengthen these muscle groups as well as your back and traps and even shoulders and triceps.
It’s very close to a total-body strength move, so you’re really challenging your strength through the whole posterior chain. The posterior chain is the group of muscles that run down the back of your body, including the calves, glutes, hamstrings, and low back.
By returning back to the body’s natural design and correcting any imbalances or weaknesses through a restoration program, you will be able to create a better space for the hips, abdominal organs and muscles to all work together perfectly. And in return, all the systems in your body will be connected and begin to work harmoniously and not independently.
If your goal is to change the shape of your lower body, the deadlift can help with that. Everyone's goals are different, and not everyone works out for aesthetic reasons, and that's totally OK. But if that happens to be a goal of yours, deadlifts are an absolute MUST in any routine BUT it all starts with fixing your hips.
